Travel to Ancient Civilizations in 6th Grade Social Studies. Sixth grade social studies concentrates on world history. We begin the year with a review of map and geography skills. We then complete units on early civilizations, including the Egyptians and Israelites. We also study ancient Greece, China, and India. Next we look at the Romans and the founding of two major religions: Christianity and Islam.
