Chris Jansen
Mr. Jansen is a 4th year teacher at NMS this year. He graduated from Eastern Illinois University in May of 2008. While attending EIU, he participated in the Wind Symphony, Eastern Symphony Orchestra, Panther Marching Band, Jazz Ensemble, University Mixed Chorus, and Collegiate Band. He studied trumpet privately with Mark DeGoti, and Dr. W. Parker Melvin. He also studied piano privately with the late Dr. W. David Hobbs. Mr. Jansen was a member of Colts Drum and Bugle Corps from Dubuque, Iowa during the summers of 2006 and 2007. These summers involved a 2 month national tour ending with the Drum Corps International Word Championships. He serves as a pianist at his church as well as being involved with the LTC music and theatre departments.
At Nuttall, his teaching duties include: 6th, 7th, and 8th, grade bands, lessons, Jazz Band (8th grade fall semester), Percussion Ensemble (8th grade spring semester) , 7th grade general music, and mentoring. Mr. Jansen also volunteers as an additional instructor for the RHS Marching Maroons.
