    6. New Business
      1. Consideration of adoption of policies in PRESS Issues 114, 115, 116, and 117 with no substantial changes.
These policies were recommended for approval by the policy committee. These policies contain no substantive changes.
      2. First reading of policy updates in PRESS Issues 114, 115, 116, and 117. These policies were recommended for first reading by the policy committee. I would like to draw your attention to policies 2:260, 2:265, and 2:270. These are all related to "sex discrimination". The definition of discrimination has been broadened, and the new policies outline a process by which individuals can file complaints. Again, our main priority is the safety of all students and this will not materially change our procedures.
      3. Update on 2023-2024 School Report Card
Summary: Nuttall Middle School has earned 'Exemplary' status, while Lincoln and RHS earned 'Commendable' status. Washington remains in the 'Targeted' category, primarily due to attendance and performance of their special education subgroup (actual test was taken in 4th grade).

Growth Cohorts: These images show that our students are displaying growth on the IAR test at a faster rate than their peers across the state of Illinois.

Student Snapshot: This data indicates that nearly 50% of our students are considered to be low income. In addition, we have a 25% chronic absenteeism rate. This means that 25% of our students missed 10% or more of the school days last school year (with or without a valid excuse). Our schools are spending lots of time stressing the importance of attendance, both at the teacher and administrative level.

Teacher Attendance: This shows that 71% of teachers had fewer than 10 absences last year. That means that 29% of teachers had more than 10 absences last year.
      4. Consideration of approval of Resolution allowing ENGIE to perform a No-Cost Detailed Audit of Facilities and Energy Efficiency.
      5. First reading of 2024-2025 RHS Course Handbook.
Suggested changes are highlighted in yellow.
    7. Personnel
High school custodian: Applications have been submitted. Mrs. Schultz and Mr. Music have conducted interviews and are waiting to schedule another interview. They are not ready to recommend a candidate at this time.
Update: I added Josh Hatfield's resignation to the personnel sheet. His last day was November 8. We expect to receive a formal letter of resignation soon.

    Public: No comments
  5. New Business
    1. Presentation and discussion of the tentative 2024 tax levy report.
  6. Administrator Reports and Board Vision & Goals Updates
Klier - Building Maintenance issues - Brent and Jim have been working hard on replacing lights for safety. The old building by Special Services is torn down and we are looking to asphalt it in the spring.
NMS - Girls basketball winding down. 8th grade is in the middle of their fire safety unit and this is always a big unit for that grade. Marathon working with them and looking for them to donate fire extinguishers to students. Belt and Music are working together to improve student attendance at NMS and RHS.
RHS Sports - Gearing up for winter sports to start. Students lead a student pep rally for them.
RHS - Beta Club hosted a blood drive and 123 units of blood were donated. Engineering competition was also hosted earlier this month. 12 students were named as State Scholars. Wizard of Oz tickets on sale 12/6,7,8. Beta Club induction.
Farnsworth - FCS Classroom is slowly starting to wrap up. Waiting for countertops to be delivered. The WES Addition project is in the design portion and hoping to have something in board members' hands in December.
  7. Adjourn
The meeting adjourned at 5:58 P.M.
